Markforged Continuous-Fiber Kevlar Filament
Markforged’s Kevlar fiber is a continuous reinforcement filament that is highly resistant to impact and abrasion. Designed to be integrated using CFF (Continuous Fiber Fabrication) technology, it enables the production of composite parts that do not fracture abruptly upon impact, offering exceptional durability for the most demanding industrial applications.

Markforged’s Kevlar filament is not a standard plastic, but a true continuous aramid fiber. Used as a “reinforcement” within a matrix (such as Onyx or Nylon), it gives the printed part mechanical properties similar to those of aluminum, with one unique characteristic: extreme ductility. It is the material of choice for environments where parts are subjected to dynamic stresses, vibrations, or repeated impacts.
Product Benefits
- Unmatched impact resistance:Unlike carbon fiber, which is rigid and brittle, Kevlar absorbs energy. The part deforms but does not break.
- Durability and flexibility:excellent resistance to mechanical fatigue, ideal for moving parts or those subjected to repeated bending.
- Non-abrasive properties:Its texture is gentle on contact surfaces, allowing for the creation of tools that do not scratch finished parts.
- Lightweight:Enables a drastic reduction in weight compared to metal parts while maintaining industrial-grade strength.
Example and Fields of Application
- Industry:machine guards, safety guards, grippers, and clamping jaws.
- Automotive:chassis components exposed to flying debris, protective equipment, and sensor mounts.
- Robotics:end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) designed to handle delicate parts while providing high structural strength.
