The advantages of Pressing Dental's Peek discs
A beige Peek disc is used to produce stellate implants, implant suprastructures and inlay-cores.
Peek is a polyetheretherketone-based polymer that contains no metal oxides or monomers.
Its elasticity is comparable to that of bone tissue and, unlike thermoplastic materials, it does not produce galvanic effects and does not induce thermal conductivity. Like acetal, it also has the ability to absorb and dissipate compressive masticatory forces, thereby simulating, in a sense, the periodontal effect.
Thanks to its characteristics, the product guarantees long-term use.
During the planning stage, it is advisable to consider the thickness of the margins and connections to avoid potential “detachment” issues caused by the difference in elastic modulus between the disc and the aesthetic veneer.
