The advantages of Pressing Dental's Peek discs
A beige Peek disc is used to produce stellate implants, implant suprastructures and inlay-cores.
Peek is a polyetheretherketone-based polymer, free of metal oxides and monomer.
Its elasticity is comparable to that of bone tissue and, unlike thermoplastic materials, it does not produce galvanic effects or induce thermal conductivity. Like acetal, it also has the ability to absorb/dissipate compressive masticatory forces, simulating, as it were, the periodontal effect.
Thanks to these characteristics, the product guarantees long-term use.
In the planning stage, it's a good idea to consider the thickness of edges and connections, to avoid possible "detachment" problems due to the difference in elastic modulus between the disc and the esthetic coating.
